Bob Lake camp and trail clearing adventures, day II

OK this is what we did on Sunday.
Oh good!  Bill our neighbor is coming over with Chase!

Ya, no one ever touches us over here.

Me and Chase can't get enough of tussling fun!

Then Marj and Doug showed us to help on the trail.
We're so glad they are here!
We packed up and headed out.
We're going to hike out to where we left off yesterday.
Someone had axed this off years ago.  Arlyn was impressed.
The beauty of insects found on the trail.

Ya, that Marjory knows how to clear trails.
So glad to have her helping.

And Doug!

Oh that's looking better.

Remember the weedy patch from yesterday?
See now? Nice and neat!

Oh ya Doug, get those little stubs cut off.

I don't mind leaping over this but the 2 leggeds do.

This is where the spur trail meets the NCT.

Sandy cleans up the intersection.
Guess we should ask about getting the sign replaced.

We hike back.
Back at camp, we treed a couple of red squirrels.
We guarded this position for the next hour.

Bye bye, Bob Lake camp.
It was such an exciting, busy weekend and we both feel asleep
as soon as we got on the road. I hope we can go back soon.

Bob Lake camp and trail clearing adventures.

On Friday evening we traveled to the Bob Lake campground to stay there, then clear the Nature Trail and spur trail that connects it to the North Country Trail just south of Bob Lake.  It appears that it had not been cleared in years and no one has adopted it.  This will be the 1st of two posts.
Ya, us trail mutts are definitely ready to go.
And right now, we are being very, very good.

Oh this is nice and the lake is right here, perfect for water dogs.
We had not camped here before.

And there are friendly campers right next door!

Let's tussle!
Chase is another 11 month old who loves to wrestle just like I do.

We tussle, wrestle and bite, then we tussle, wrestle and bite!
Repeat.

This really is a nice camp ground.

Kayakers were out on this little lake this evening.
We saw fishermen as well.

I think it's time that we'll be put to bed.

Kelpies just can't be kept out of the water. Hey!
I saw another frog here!
(Note from the 2 leggeds: Neither Kelpies nor Blue Heelers, which Wally is,
are supposed to be water dogs)

This is a new day with adventure in the works.

Let's go for a little walk this morning!

The steam rises from Bob Lake.

I love this place.

This is a little hiking trail the NFS doesn't keep cleared,
since they are short on funds. From its southern end,
is the spur trail to the NCT that we'll clear.

Even in the morning, we run, growl and bite!

Frogs, lakes and puppies just can't be kept apart.

Hummmm the two legged ones had blueberry pancakes
and the berries came from their garden.

Could it get any nicer than this?  Where's the coffee?!
OK, now its time to get to work!  Josh and Linda are here to help
but so is Jim, who we didn't get a picture of. Sorry Jim!

We helped too.

I love Linda. She helps on the trails AND she pets me.

We all stopped for lunch.

It's getting cleaned up!

This is the junction of the Nature Trail and the spur trail.

This is supposed to be the trail.  Ya, we'll tidy this up.

It's warm out and Arly made us lay in the creek here.
We were happy to oblige!

Ya Josh, you can rub me some.  No one ever does this ya know.

We've had a long and productive day, so now we're hiking out.

Ya Josh, we're so glad you came to help today,
and more importantly, to rub me some.
Some dogs just can't stay awake any longer.

Even the old ones can't stay awake.
It's been an exciting day for trail mutts!
