Yet more Courtney Lake ski trail clearing.

Sorry to say that a lame pack member accidentally deleted many photos taken today.  So this post doesn't show some things we wanted you to see, but anyway, here are a few taken today while clearing the trail at Courtney Lake.

As usual, the pole saw got a good work out.

In the afternoon, snow started to fall and the Boss showed it.

As expected, we had to quit early due to a wind and snow.
We weren't worried about working in the snow,
just driving home. Visibility was limited as we got
close to home and it did get slippery!

Time to get the Boss put away!
Until the next work day, hopefully on Saturday.

Ski trail check at Courtney Lake.

On Saturday the pack headed out for yet another fine adventure at Courtney Lake. We wanted to check out the rest of the ski trail system, plus look at some of the equestrian trails, to see if they may work for winter grooming.  The old girl stayed home today.

We load the Boss and tools.  This cranks me up!

Days like this, is why we love being out at Courtney Lake.

Oh hi Dean! I'm glad you're here to explore with us.

We spied tracks from a small canine animal
who walked along here this morning.

I trotted along while they checked the trails.

The gate, where the Circle of Life trail crosses the RR grade.

Now we get to work.
A few signs and blazes are still up, from years ago.

Lost and lots of trees had fallen on this section of trail.

Whew, that one took a while.

Preventative maintenance - felling a dead
standing spruce that's leaning to the trail.

I checked in from time to time. It was a busy day!

It was nice to see the sun and blue skies for a change.

Coming off of the trail.

We loaded up and head for home.  I'm tired!

Courtney Lake camper retrieval.

After clearing the Deer Marsh Trail at Lake Ste Katheryn, we headed to Courtney Lake to pack the camper up and bring it home.   Sigh....end of camping season.

We also went for a short exploratory trail romp, but didn't get any photos of that. But we'll be back on Saturday for trail checking with Dean and we'll tell ya all about it.

Why is Sandy knocking the snow off the canopy?

We cut a few branches and I supervised.

It's sad to see it put away.   Will we ever camp again?

The leveling blocks were frozen down.

Was a alien ship parked here?

It's getting to look a bit like Christmas.

Thanksgiving Day adventures at the Deer Marsh Trail.

On Thanksgiving Day the pack had the day off, so we celebrated by heading out in the woods. First up was the Deer Marsh Trail at Lake Ste Kathryn campground. Then we headed up to Courntey Lake, where sadly, we had to concede that camping season is truly over for the year, so we pulled the camper back home. While there we got out for a romp too of course.

We are loaded up for some adventure!

We've not been down here in some time!

All the mutts love to get in the woods to romp and sniff things.

Lake Ste Kathryn is our favorite campground.

Keplies like to roll in the snow too!

We head out to check the trail while the old girl stays in the truck.

It is so, so pretty here today.

It's just a 3 mile hike around the Deer Marsh.

First dead-fall found!  Many will be cleared off today.

I sprint ahead when I hear squirrels.

There was lots more snow here than at home.

We love snow and winter hikes.

Sandy and I checked to see how this tree had came down.
It was sawed!

We found quite a few trees had came down
but we got most of them off the trail, like this one.

Back at the truck.

We check out the campground a bit.

We'll all hike back out to clear a couple of big dead-falls off.

Older trail mutts attend this time.

Ya, this is the trail.

The two legged members get busy.

More found near by.

This took a bit to get cleared.

All done!  Another post to follow for the Courtney Lake stop.

Circle of Life trail clearing done!

Circle of Life trail clearing was finally completed late on Saturday afternoon.  Thanks to all the folks who came out to help!  This started in September and it's now "roughed" in.

I'm so glad to meet you Katrina!

No one ever rubs me at our house!

Oh good, Dean, Bubba and Mary are here to help too!

Lots of smart talk happening here!

Oh ya Bubba, you are the best.

We got lots of up-close time in today.  I like that!

This old big ol' dead-fall got trimmed and moved off some.

This day is late, but we got it rough cut out by 4.

On our way out, we stopped to look at the old map, long outdated.
