Recent random adventure photos

Here is a few random adventure photos my pack took this week. As stated earlier, with the canopy fully developed the trails are quite shaded so amateur photographers like us have great difficulty getting live action shots.

This is the tail feature at Tech my pal Chad fell on.
Seems pretty mellow to me!  Chad's FDGB post

Testing the Big Bird out at Tech trails. Its a hard tail.
Were as mine is a rudder for swimming.  I love doing that!

The bomb shelter trail at Swedetown trails.

The bridge at the bomb shelter.  I'm busy hunting.

This weekend we will again attempt the drive to Cable and ride the wonderful trails found there. Maybe you’d like join us?   You know how social of a mutt I am!   We’ll camp in the NFS campground on Namakagon lake located just east of Cable and bring along food, various favorite beverages and shower equipment for the weekend. It's is a rustic CG and you are free to use our shower setup.  We’ll cancel on Friday if the weekend weather will be to darn HOT for a winter dog.  This is not a private party so kids, dogs and anyone you’d like to invite along is welcome.  My pack will arrive Friday evening and do a longish ride (run for me) Saturday.   Then a short one Sunday am before heading back.  It’s a fun filled ride weekend of camp fire stories (all true). On Saturday evening we’ll have a potluck dinner.

Another Swedetown Swing

With warm weather in the works, we wandered up to Swedetown for a bright and cheery ride before it got too toasty out. Winter dogs just can't appreciate warm weather!.
I was hot from the get-go.

But I still love to run!

Arly led the way through the pines.

We had to take many cool down stops.

Good thing for the rain this week, this was
an excellent water stop.

Otherwise, we had to improvise.

These rocks don't stop me!

Our ride was "Uff Da" today.

The food was really good! Where's Tom??

After our spin, we stopped into our favorite trail mutt-certified eatery: Cafe Rosetta. The pack dined out on the sidewalk where several very friendly people gave me some attention, which I am always lacking in.

Sunday Harbor Group Ride Romp

On Sunday we headed up to Copper Harbor to ride with some new friends I just met.  They were up from Wausau and Rhinelander and were all driving bread box Elements, just like my pack.  I love these guys because anyone who drives a bread box knows how to find adventure!

Chad did a "woops" and fell on his back.
Not here but at Tech.
He was sore but later was checked out to be OK.
Oh ya, I love this.
On the way home we stopped at Gale's lake cabin to check it out.
Didn't you know I'm a water dog?

Gale didn't know he had the most fun ball here!

We also checked his sauna out. I kept the ball close at paw.
On the way home we stopped at the park to have a snack.
It's been a busy weekend and I was tired.

Copper Harbor Camp-n-ride heat retreat!

With cooler temps predicted up at the harbor, we loaded a bike and camping gear into the bread box Honda, then we stopped at our friends house Clark, who was coming along for the adventure.  More the merrier this mutt says!  After everyone was loaded, we headed up to enjoy some cooler lake breezes and the trails up there.  Here is CH web page, if you care to see more about this quaint little town at the end of the peninsula.  Copper Harbor
Camping is an important part of being a trail mutt.

Ya, I love these trails and water....

Clark scratches my ears. I love that too!!!

He hadn't been on the new section of the Garden Brook trail.

Here we go!

Climbing the Garden Brook boardwalks.

Some of the new Garden Brook boardwalks.

Hummmmmm Sandy made some wonderful camp food!
Although I mostly ate lame kibble.
I'm so glad Clark came and ran with us.
It was a busy weekend and I got a little tired during the
ride home.

Your Cable WI weekend invitation!

On this weekend of June 9-10th we’re heading to Cable WI for a  Chequamegon crazy trail ride and camping extravaganza.  Maybe you’d like join us?   You know how social of a mutt I am!   We’ll camp in the NFS campground on Namakagon lake located just east of Cable and bring along food, various favorite beverages and shower equipment for the weekend.    This is a rustic CG and you are free to use our shower setup.    We’ll cancel on Friday if the chance of rain exceeds 50% over the weekend or its to darn HOT for us Yoopers.   This is not  a private party so kids, dogs and anyone you’d like to invite along is welcome.   My pack will arrive Friday evening and do a longish ride (run for me) Saturday.   Then a short one Sunday am before heading back.   It’s a fun filled ride weekend of camp fire stories (all true)..  On Saturday evening we’ll have a potluck dinner.   Posted below are a few photos from past camps there.

Due to the warm temps predicted here and in Cable this weekend, we'll be heading up to Copper Harbor were the temps are reputed to be considerably cooler.   A winter dog like myself doesn't do well in hot weather!

Weekend ride-n-camp

On Saturday morning the pack worked to get the garden in, and with the weekend weather looking perfect for camping, after the gardening was done, we loaded the little camper and headed up the peninsula in search of adventure.. And that is my middle name!
On the way up we stopped for a "Wonder Ride"
at Swedetown trails.

A bottle has to do when there are no favorite creeks nearby..

Here we came off of the Burly Trail.

Winding through the pines...

After our adventure at Swedetown, we jumped into the bread box and pointed it north. The best adventures are had in Copper Harbor!

The moon over Lake Fanny Hooe
It was a perfect morning for camping!
I helped make pancakes.
Don't I get some?
Finally, some trail adventure!
Woopidy-Woo is great!
Another switchback with a Woop.
I love running down this trail with my pack!
Whoshier??  Rolled  trash off the top of Brockway Mnt.drive....
Shadows of Woopidy-Woo,
This is the best part! I love Garden Brook.
We took the long and conservative way
down, not this more adventurous path.
Ready to roll down the Stairway!
We were enjoying the cool breeze off the Big Lake, seen here.  Here is a video we took going down this a few years ago.
I heard someone fell off this corner. Looks plenty wide to me!
Down, down, down...
Rock at the bottom of the Stairway.
The sticking up rock has gotten many bikers!
It's Sunday, so we stopped at church.
This is the historic church in Phoenix.
