Bailey visit!

On Sunday afternoon while the rain had quit, Bailey stopped by to visit us!   The puppy came too but he didn't stick around very long.
Ya, we've gotten to tussle many times in the past.
Where have you been?

I don't get to play like this very often.
Even the older mutts got into it!
Do come back to see us again soon!

Mutts get Christmas gifts

Ya, this is late breaking news.  Seems my pack forgot to post us getting our Christmas gifts.
Hey!  I smell interesting things.

Wally does too.
What's in here?

These came from Grampa and Gramma Vesel. We love them!

Dogs do Christmas!

Us mutts had the best Christmas Eve ever! In the morning we went for a nice trail romp at the Pilgrim Watershed trail, then in the evening we got to see everyone after the service at Good Shepherd Church.
Some dogs are hunting all the time.
This is the edge of  Pilgrim River gorge.

We stopped at the picnic table for tea
while trail mutts just eat snow.

And we cross the little bridge again.

Old mutts catch up.  It's tough when you have arthritic joints.

What's this??

Snow fell off that little balsam and rolled down the hill
and grew in size as it tumbled.

Almost back.

By the end of the loop, even the younger mutts were slowing down.

We had such a nice romp today.

After church, we got to come in to socialize!

We made the rounds to say 'hi' to everyone.

We even met some friendly new-comers!

Ya Danielle, I do like that.

Lisa, here I am!

We always like to see Liam.

Ya he even talks to us. We like that!

Oh, you can scratch my ears...

....and my back too!

Friendly people are what Christmas is all about for us mutts.

Weekend deep snow adventures!

This weekend it warmed up, so it was spring-like for the solstice!
On Saturday, we headed out to Boundary Rd.
We re-coated this picnic table this fall.

We hadn't romped at the Pilgrim Watershed Trail for a couple weeks.

The 2-leggeds had flotation over the crusty snow under the surface.

Short-haired dogs romped with ease, while long-haired ones
collected snow-balls.

Arly made me jump up here.
He says I need more training!

It's always scary until I just do it.

Sandy had to go back and pluck snow balls off Gromit's coat.

Puppies with tiny paws know to romp in the tracks.

I waited for the rest of the gang at the bridge.

This bridge is the one Arly towed back with the
Big Boss this fall.

The 2-leggeds are especially glad for the bridge to cross on.

We admired the artsy snow on the sign.
Why did it bend back like this?

Everything was so pretty today.

The low sun of the solstice.

Ya, it's winter for real now!
On Sunday, we went for a romp at Maasto.

The 2-leggeds used their skin-skis.
All paw drive worked just fine for us.

Winter fun abound

Ya, we've still been getting good snow and it's starting to pile up. Also us 4-leggeds got to have our annual vet check-ups. One of us loves going to the vet...while the younger one is less enamored.
After grooming the trails on Sunday Arly got to play
in the snow at home.
Not bad base for mid-December.

We moved the "squirrel feeder" to a hard to get to spot.

Monday evening, we got to see our favorite folks at Northland Vet!

Old dogs wait in anticipation while puppies grow more nervous.

Oh hey! You're awfully friendly. You can touch me more.

Oh ya, I like Dr Brandon too.

Gromit says, "you can do that more".
Wally says, "ya don't worry about me, just keep going with her."

I got a full check-over.

OK, I guess it's Wally's turn.

Oh gee I like you and all but you sure make me nervous.

Oh I do like being held onto a little. I guess this is OK after all.

Tuesday, Arly had time to work on the plow for the Boss.
He even got to use it some!

Those big pods make pushing snow a snap. Stay tuned!
