Sunday afternoon BC ski adventures!

Oh ya,  after the parade we went for a short back country ski to see some sites, we'd not seen in some time.
What are they doing?
Seems they are crossing a beaver dam on Swedetown creek

Now we cross Spring Creek in Churning Rapids.

Give over!  I want to get a going.

Sandy made it without falling in.

Some puppy will get left behind, if he spends too much
time out hunting.

Wait up Gromit! I'm coming.

Come on you slow pokes!  The old dog is this going fast!

We saw Linda and Ken, plus their trail mutt.

Hey! You're just my size!

We can all romp together.

Can we go with you?
Back at Swedetown creek.

It's our favorite one.

Heikenpaiva means fun! And being in a parade.

We do the Heikenpaiva parade every winter, although this might be Wally's first one.
Oh good, the Finlandia softball team is here in the staging area.
We like them!

Seems they've not had many trail mutts to pat.

Wally was popular as well.

Even the Sons of Norway like to rub a trail mutt now and then.

I met all kinds of friendly people here.

Here's a friendly husky tow dog.

OK, now we're going!

Hey! There's friendly people lining the street!

Me and Wally got to see the Brueggeman's.

Evan! Am I going to see you out on the trails soon?

Mark drove the Defender, and Colin the Kodiak.
Arly wanted to march for a change!

We did a promo for the Barnelopet too.

Look Gromit! I found more friendly people.

I think I see more over there!

The Kodiak was towing the newly improved school drag.

Hey! Is that candy over there?

Geez, she wouldn't let us have any.

We saw even more friendly people, the closer we got to the
Heritage Center.

Oh! A friendly mutt!

Kids are my favorite though.

Everyone loves a snow dog.

Hi Chris! I haven't seen you since Music On The Menu.

I just don't get enough kid-time, like this.

I like dads too.

Weekend fun!

We had lots of fun this weekend!
Saturday afternoon, Cassie came by just to see us!

Well, really she came to help Arly shovel roofs.
We had supper together too, including cookies!

Oh ya, you should stop by again soon.

On Sunday afternoon, we headed down to check out the trails
at Countney Lake. Arly got to inspect their sno-razor.

They had a sign-in, but no donation box.

Snow condition varied from great to icy, with the recent melt and freeze.

This is along the "old grade".

Where's Wally??

Get over! I want to get by!

Lotsa debris from snow clumps dropping out of the trees.

We stopped for a break on this log, by these cabins.

We had such a nice adventure here today!
We skied all of the trails and I even got to dig something up.

Saturday BC ski fun!

Oh ya, the pack hadn't been up to Perreault Lake yet this winter so we checked it out today.
It's warm out!  They get a tad more snow up here.

We decided to circle around the lake going clockwise.

Big blobs of snow have been falling out of the trees.

The lake outlet was open and flowing.

C'mon Wally, we cross on the bridge.

Lotsa snow on the bridge yet.

Arly came over to check it out too.

There were lots and lots of things to investigate.
We're hunting dogs ya know.

It was good going, the snow is set up for easy 4-pawing.

We stop for a drink.

It is nice to see the sun now and then.
We're getting three day break from snow.

I thought I saw something! Oh it was a leaf blowing.

Look at the snow tumbles! They fell off the trees and down the hill.

Arly says we have to look for a log for them to sit on.

We recommend lying on the snow.

Tea time is pleasant when it's warm and sunny.

OK, now what else can we go see.

Did a tree get pushed down from snow?

The school forest bulletin board doesn't have anything posted now.
Gromit says there is a fen to go see next.

Good snow depth here.

We had such a nice romp here today!
