New Year's Eve romps!

On New Year's Eve, Sandy worked some but when she got home,
we got out for some nice snowy romps.
The weather dog says, "it really is snowing out".

We checked out Maasto in the morning. It snowed really hard!

Later, after lunch, we headed for our favorite deeper snow bounding spot.

Ya, that would be Perrault Lake!
This is a logging trail heading there.

Oh it was pretty out there.

Hey! We even got to see some kids.
I guess they got skunked ice fishing.

The fresh new dense snow made for a great romp.

All the water holes were froze or snowed over.

Hunting was good, of course.

It was blustery, but this was a sheltered spot.

We had such nice adventures today.
Wonder what we will do tomorrow?

Holiday weekend fun!

Oh ya,  This was Sunday December 30th and we got to church again!
You know we love to go to church.
I'll be here for just a moment, and then I'm off to the next friendly person.

Did you know, I'm here for some rubbing!

Oh ya Nate you can rub me. Hey where's your mutt today?

I've been good today!
I have to be on my best behavior when I'm at church.

I got to visit with the Langseth's.

Oh ya, I like that butt-scratching.

Everyone can get some rubbing here.

Did you leave some for me?
Hey! Can me and Gromit get some snacks?

Oh that's ok, I got Nate to pet me some more.

I hope to see you soon!

Later, we went for a little Maasto romp.
Me and Arly romped in on Maki trail, to meet Sandy.

We dropped her off at the Christensen Rd trail head.

Hunting was good.

Oh oh, we had an equipment catastrophe
so we had to romp back to the car.

Later, catastrophe fixed....we headed to
Nara trailhead to romp by the Pilgrim River.

We had the good fortune to meet some very friendly snow shoers!

Snow was pretty crusty today. Need more!

Oh, oh, we got to meet many friendly kids at the sledding hill today.
We had the best Sunday ever!

First Maasto romp for the season!

Oh ya.  We've hardly skied or been to Maasto this winter. Why not?
Let's get a going!

It was such a nice day for a little romp on the trails.

The 2- leggeds said the glide was great!

Meanwhile, the 4-leggeds found hunting to be good.

Could it get any prettier than this?

We don't get out much ya know.

Older dogs appreciate a groomed trail.

The sun peeked out a little.

A dying dog?  Sick or wounded?
No, just scratching my nose and having a snow bath!
I do recommend it.

Skiing is good, even though the snow is quite shallow.

The 2-leggeds said it was nice to ski in tracks.

I smell a vole here!

Next we'll head towards Churning Rapids.

We watch for rabbits in the pines.

You can tell this is a posed photo since we're not in the lead!

Trails mutts do like to get out for a little romp.
Maybe we'll get out again on Sunday? And Monday, and every day....

Last days of Christmas adventures

We had more exhilarating vacation adventures when we got sent outside and found that Holly was outside as well.  This can only spell fun!
We bite, we growl and we tussle.

We do lots of pawing too!

I think I'll need to bite her leg.

Now I get pawed again!

Guurr, guuurr, gurrr...... on and on.

This is SO much fun. Ya, we could do this for hours.

Oh Danny, could you come out and take Holly off her lead?
We promise to stay in the yard.

Oh good!  Now we can really, really run fast!

Even the old dog got into it.

Ya, this is quality puppy, tussle time.

Back inside. Those guys were baking.

Ray shows Sandy the proper technique of rolling out potica dough.

Luckily, he did most of the work!

Now the filling is added.

And rolling is next.

That part is done.

Now into pans, then the oven.

Later, we were helping Grampa get the stew meat ready.
He must not notice how hungry we look.

After supper, we FINALLY got to get our Christmas gifts!
Me and Gromit were sniffing ours all weekend.

I wonder if there's more back here for me.

We thought Gramma and Grampa would
like a U.P. blanket to keep warm with.

Oh ya, you can pet me more Gramma.
Grampa likes the goofy hat we found for him.

We had such a nice Christmas.

Tuesday morning was Christmas day, but we
had to get packed up after breakfast.

I was on my best behavior for 4 days in a row....a new record!

Oh ya Gramma, I hope we can come back soon.

We like to visit, especially at Gramma and Grampa's.

Hey! Did you remember that we like peanut butter toast?

Oh ya Grampa, I'd love to give you a peck on the cheek.

And sit in your lap too. I hope we can visit again soon!
