Katmai Bay visits us!

Tuesday afternoon the Coast Guard cutter Katmai Bay tied up to stay overnight. We walked down to the pier to say hi.

I'm so glad they stopped by to visit me.
We didn't see any buoys they could be installing but
we'd guess that's what they were doing.
Update!  We just saw that she's here to help the NPS boat (LCM)
get through the ice and back up to Isle Royale.

Here is a video of this boat plus the Coast Guard cutters
Mackinaw and Morro Bay entering Duluth harbor.

They tied up right next to Copper Harbor's Queen

Ya, she's pretty and one of the bay class cutters on the lakes.
I hope they come back soon!
