Easter vacation adventures, #2

This post is from Easter Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday so its kind of long..
Gramma caught a few minutes of the ball game after church.
Why didn't I get to go?

Later, we romped at Hidden Valley.
Gromit, what are you doing?

Oh! Yes I do appreciate a good snow-roll.

We didn't see any bikers here today.

Later, we all relaxed.

You know I would really like to be a lap dog!

Monday morning, we were all up bright n early.

Can't you scratch my ears harder?

Today we drove east of town to romp out at the NFS
camp ground since the hiking trail was too wet.

We even found some creeks to be in!

Then we hiked the short trail at Kawishiwi Falls.

We spied some interesting trees.

This birch grew right over this rock.

The falls were spectacular!

Water was up.

Then when we got home, it was time for a spring time hair cut.

I had my belly hairs trimmed already but today I got a full trim.

Grampa helped as the hair flew off.

On Tuesday we headed east of town again, this time
to romp on the Snowbank Lake trail.

There were a few wet spots, this was one of the worst.

Snowy spots too.

Luckily, we had a creek crossing.
The water's fine, you don't need those logs!

It was sunny and warm so we were glad to have water close by.

We met a fella out for a stroll, looking for the portage.
Coffee and cigarettes were his sustenance for the hike.

We took a break at a camp site.

This is nice! It was about 60 degrees.

We didn't have a fire today.

Lotsa trees were blown over a few years ago.

Here you can see many trees had to be cut to restore the trail.

Beaver pond!

Without the blue ribbons (Commonly called Connie tape)
it would have been hard to follow the trail in some areas.

Yes they have been busy out here.

Just down from a small beaver dam.

This trail will be very hard to see once the leaves are out
and grass is growing.

We enjoyed lots of nice overlooks.

Bigfoot? Or a hiker long passed...

Ya, hard to follow.

Oh ya, another cooling dip.

The nose knows.

Almost back.

We had such a nice romp here today.

We checked out the camp site at the end of the portage.

Snowbank Lake.

Rock cairns show the way in many spots.

Riding home, we just couldn't stay awake.
