A Perrault Highland Trails romp

With snow melting, we thought today would be a good day for a romp at the Perrault Highlands Trails! Did you know that a group of folks are working to make some new trails there next winter?  You should join us!
We have between 1-2 feet in our yard, and less in some spots.
Clearly much deeper here!
This might be three times more, than in town.

It's in the 40's now but was in the teens last night, the crust is still firm.

Oh, this makes me want a snow bath!
We went the easy way up from the "parking area".
They decided they better get some ribbons up while they still can.

Meanwhile, we hunted for squirrels.

Yes, hunting was good out here.

C'mon, this way.

We checked a few different routes to find the
gentlest way up to the top.  The snow sure is deep here!

Must be tea time!

OK, we finally got a good route scoped and marked.
This is make two ways to ski from the parking lot.

Now we'll check out a few other loops.

Snow angels? Well, maybe someone took another bath here...

They said the snow was getting sticky in the warm sun.

We were just glad the crust was still firm!

You can tell a winter dog when they start
seeking a shady spot to stay cool!

Ya Arly it's warm out today, but this snow is still so good!

Atop the 6' tall dirt berm. Sure has filled in over the winter!

We had such a nice romp here today!
I do hope we have groomed trails here next winter.
