National Trails Day work bee!

Since today is National Trails Day, the pack thought what better thing to do but head to Gardner Rd and do some work on our section of the North Country Trail.
We started out by cleaning up the drive way, and
the trail from here to Tank Creek.

Arly installed a nice sign board to hold our sign at the
parking lot/camp ground.

Oh I love it here. I roll in the pine needles as soon as I can.

OK, looks like we're getting ready to do something else now.

I was hoping to camp here tonight, like we usually do.

The dog truck was loaded back up so we could shuttle
over to a different part of the trail.

Here Sandy worked on freshening up old blazes
while Arly trimmed brush so you could see them.

Arly! When are we going swimming?

Sorry Wally....only mud puddles around here.

Brush is coming up...it will be whacked down in a few weeks.

We blazed 3/4 mile out, then back. Plenty for this buggy day!
With the rain we've had this spring, the weeds are growing.

Arly made a custom blaze spot on that dead standing hemlock.
That's real Artsy!

Ya, the wet muddy stretch is about as bad as ever.

Back at home, I got to visit with the neighbor girl!
I love skiers you know and she skis for MI tech.
