Camping, trail work, and Rousseau Bar adventures!

OK, things have settled down here so we got out and about, to Gardner Rd, to camp again.
Wally! Don't wander off too far. You don't want to get left!

Oh ya. Saturday we got to Gardner Rd later in the afternoon.

The Tank Creek bridge survived the Father's Day storm,
but much of the corduroy was washed out of place.

Did we ever tell you, this is the best camping spot anywhere?

Oh ya, no one ever touches me.

What's cookin' tonight?

Pork chops a cooking!  Will they be smoked?

After supper, the growling and chasing commenced.

The next morning was nice and cool out at around 40 degrees
Bugs were not too bad!

We did again some romping, of course.

Then we got to work.

They got the weeds knocked back on the first mile of trail.

Until it got too muddy to continue on.

We'll head back the next cool and dry weekend to finish the whacking.

After the weed whacking, we got the corduroy moved back.
This is so hikers have less mud to walk through

Next, we headed east to clear the trail entry spots here along
Gardner Rd.
This is where the re-routed trail pops out west of the river.

This is on the east side of the river.
The grass and weeds are growing well...

Since this is close by and we had the tools out, we cleared
this so hikers can easily see where the trail is.

This debris was pulled out from under the East Branch bridge recently.

Kelpies like to go for a dip when ever they get a chance.

I don't mind the silty water.
My pack thought I smelled rather bad after rolling in something stinky!

After our dip, Sandy was finishing up. Looks good!

Then we headed a few miles east, to the parking area and trail
crossing on FR 1100.

We mowed this area last summer too.

Then we headed to camp to relax a little.

We were glad to have a power nap.  Its been a long, long day.

Then, for supper we got to visit a very special place.
Wally, this is the Rousseau Bar!

Oh good!  Angie the onwer is here!
Oh, me and Rocco, the resident mutt hit it off.

There's always friendly people here.

Let's tussle!  This is hows thinsg go at the Rousseau bar!

Ya, I'll bite you.

Wally you can come visit any time.
