NCT bridge shuffle!

Yesterday, we loaded the dog truck and ventured to Gardner RD, near Mass City MI and did more work on a trail bridge there. Trail mutts do like spending time on the North Country Trail!
Ya Wally, I'd suggest you stay close by, or you'll be left behind!
An hour later.  OK, let's get down to that bridge and get started.

1st thing, Sandy is knocking them weeds back.

They jacked it out of the mud.
You can't see it in this photo, but the creek had washed away the bank
from under this corner.
We moved the other end, about 4ft.
This was all under water last year because of beavers.

The bridge was raised just enough, so rebar anchors could be moved
through the muck.

Done!  Both ends of the bridge had to be moved and get it
back on terra firma again.  We also raised it 6".
It was a long and hot day here, but we did get it done.
Hopefully, it will last another 10 years.
Back at camp and after we had ate, it was time to run and growl!
This is what camping at Gardner RD is all about.

Hummm, we smelled steak a cooking.
The rocks came from the Lake Mine poor rock pile near here.

Could working on trails, get any more fun than this?

At the end of the day we packed up.
I wish we could have camped overnight,
but we still had such a wonderful time today.
