Saturday morning at Swedetown trails.

With wonderful weather predicted for the holiday weekend, my pack thought we should cruise around these wonderful trails.
We got-a-going right away in the morning.

We headed up the Happy Ending first.

It was such a nice morning for a romp!

It was cool out...but I still get hot.

Oh Ya!

We didn't happen to see any snow shoers.

We went to check out the Farmer's Well next.

Where's the dog??? Oh, hunting was good.

Look like an old farm stead to you?

I keep my nose wet as we run.

No problem here.

Some dogs like me, just don't get out much.

We viewed the lake on Lakeview Loop.

Here's the old homestead on the other end
of Lakeview Loop

We checked out 7/11. It had dried up and was good too.

Best of all, I got to see some friendly bikers!
I hope to see you soon, too.

Sunday romp with Mark's gang!

On Sunday afternoon we joined Mark's gang (KDSS) to hike a couple trails up north. We parked at Esrey Park on a cool, breezy Keweenaw summer day.
People stopped to look at the signage.
Trial mutts don't need no signs!

Up the hill we go.

We passed through 4 types of forest along the way.

This trail ended on Brockway Moutain Drive.

We then proceeded to the next trail.

Sign says we head to Upson Lake.

Me and Bella led the way again.

I had to be conservative on the beaver dam crossing...

Bella of course was much braver.

Oh good, after our romp we're all going
to the Brickside Brewery
This place was Mutt approved a few years ago.
Gee, we found a pack of friendly mutts here today!

Can I have some chips?

We all had such a nice visit here.

Hey, Dave has chips too! Me and Pepper sure are hungry.

All us mutts had to resort to hunting for morsels on the floor.

Oh Jessica! We missed you.

Hey! This fella is good for some treats.

Lots of friendly people here today.
We have been soooooooooo good!

Ya Jason, we appreciate a mutt friendly business ya know.
And good beer too!

Saturday Swedetown Swing

Oh Ya Mark. Finally we can all romp together!
We met Mark at the chalet to ride Swedetown.

Still lots of light with the leaves only budding.

We headed out on the Bunker Trail.

Then Two Hoots.

Ya Mark, winter dogs need to
take a cool dip now and then.

Arly checked out the marsh marigolds.

Now we're going again!

Arly wanted to do Lakeview Loop but he was voted down
so we headed back on Farmer's Well.
A few muddy spots here n there but
overall a fine ride today at Swedetown.

Summer's first CAMBA camp-n-ride!

Each summer we travel west to the Chequamegon forest to ride the wonderful trails found there.  These are built by The Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association which we are members of.
Don't forget me!!  I see the campers being loaded.

Since we got to our favorite Namakagon CG after dark,
we waited until morning for photos.

After breakfast, we headed over to romp on Seeley Pass.

It's starting to green up.

The 2-leggeds said it was cool, but I got kinda hot.

We met friendly bikers on the trail.

Oh yeah, I never get scratched good like this.

Ya, keep it going. Both ends, that's good!

This is the high point of the Birkie trail.

Afterwards I went for a dip.
After lunch, we headed to Telemark to check out
the Ojibwe trail.
We heard it was fixed up. Not where we were!

On the way back to camp,  we stopped to see who
was at Rock Lake.  Arly spied an old Ginzu chained up there.

After we got back to camp, I still
wanted to hunt more, so the pack came
with me to the nature trail.

This is right across the road from our camp ground.

There are some ski trails here, and the nature trail.
Fortunately, there were some nice cool spots to take a dip.

I don't mind the marsh crossings.

Big old white pine with roots exposed.

At camp that evening, I got to meet some friendly
 cyclists from Duluth.

Camp supper! I had lame kibble, as usual.
On Sunday morning, I got straight to work.
Chippy hunting never ends.

We packed up, then headed to the Namakagon trail head.
That's the Namakagon town-ship hall.

Frogs were peeping in the marsh.

The sun came out some. Better than rain!

Close up of Sisyphus rock.

We had such a nice weekend.
I can't wait for our next camp adventure!
