Day two, long weekend of trail work and camping.

As seen in the last post, we found the section to the east of Gardner road in such bad shape, it was not follow-able.
We went for a nice little hike, before breakfast.

Then we headed to the east end and started clearing.
We found a new sign had been added here.
Ya, ferns.

The trail followed what was a narrow gauge RR grade
installed for logging.

This was a weed whacking paradise.

Now it's looking better.

OK Arly, get going and knock these weeds down!

Here's a big mess - many trees are blocking the trail.

What are we going to do without a saw?

Well, let's at least lop the branches and move them away.

Gee, fall is on the way!

Walla! We'll clear it back more with the saw but for now it's passable.

I had to take a break from a long day of squirrel chasing.

Large old white pine stumps seen out here.
Not seen was was the rain that started up in the afternoon
which poured down so hard we headed home to shower.
Stay tuned, we'll be back on Monday!
