Lake Ste Kathryn day trip adventure

On Saturday, we loaded the truck and headed south to Lake Ste Kathryn campground to clear some camp sites we never got to last summer.   With the forecast for rain starting on Saturday night and continuing on Sunday, we didn't camp, but we did celebrate the day with a tasty fire-cooked supper!

The big Keweenaw Bay looked tranquil with fisherman out there.

We thought someone might be camping
or at least fishing here, but no one was seen.

Look at the lake! Almost totally calm.

We got some brush taken out here and other camp sites.

We heard some noise and found it was
Fred and his crew putting up a new kiosk!

They were sooo friendly.

These steps got undermined from high water.

So we added some.

This is at Cheryl's site. She's the best camp host ever!

We put up a sign here too, saying the site is reserved for
the host, who will be here Tuesday May 11th.

Later, at Larry & Dianne's site.
We pulled out lots and lots of undergrowth.

Fluffy brush!

After we got those jobs done, we headed out for a short
hike on the Deer Marsh Trail where we spied these two.

I took a celebratory spring dip at the East Branch headwaters.

We love Deer Marsh. Especially before skeeter season!

It was nice and dry everywhere.

Back at camp, Arly got a fire a-going to cook supper.

We had our favorite camp supper, of course.  Yuuum!

Later, we met a friendly family from Iron River.

Ya I love kids.
