Friday night music in Hancock.

When Sandy got off, we rushed across the bridge to listen to a band playing at the water front park that evening.   Maybe they'll be some kids there?
Oh yeah! These boys like the music and dogs.
This was Derrell Syria Project performing tonight.

They had treats to share!

Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks?

Oh ya, I never do fun jumps like this for kids.

Yeah, I never get any of this.

I don't know you, but you can scratch me, and I'll lean on you.

I even got to visit the neighbors!

Homeward bound, Black River gorge hike.

It started raining Saturday afternoon so with wet trails, we headed towards home Sunday morning.  On our way back we stopped at the Black River, just north of Ironwood where the North County Trail runs along this beautiful gorge.
They used to live in Ironwood and hiked this section a few times before.

We headed for the first sets of falls.
Let's go!

I was glad there were many little creeks along the way.

We found lotsa old blazes and a few new ones.

The recent heavy rains washed out a few bridges.

I don't mind the mud, but I'll walk the planks too.

Conglomerate falls.

Oh dear! Another bridge out.

No bridge here either, but the gully is certainly bigger.

Artsy tree bark and some darn nice blazes.

Hunting was good. Of course, he wouldn't come down.

Gorge falls

Ahh! The Black River is refreshing.

We had such a nice hike here today.

On the way home, we checked out Bonanza Falls,
near Silver City.

They also were called Greenwood Falls.
Looks like nonesuch shale to me!

At home, the pack celebrated the warm weather by
cooking outside on the camp stove. I love camping!

CAMBA Long-ass-ride

On Friday afternoon me and my pack traveled to Hayward WI to a motel there.  They said festivities were near there and if it got hot out,  I'd need an air-conditioned location to stay at.  Are they really that worried about me?  I'm only 9!  But ya, I'm more of a winter dog.
We stopped in Seely WI to pick up our ride paraphernalia.
Oh I love these CAMBA people, they'll pet me some.
No one else does!

This is Saturday morning at the ride shuttle.
They left me inside the cool motel room.

This is the ride's start.

That night at the dinner, I found LOTS of friendly
riders to play with.  They even brought a dog Frisbee!

Some friendly riders from Manitoba.  They are Dave L.'s friends.

Arly didn't get many good photos of the dinner but there
were lots of people there. We all had such a fun time.

The library hosts Steve Jones!

Sandy had Friday off because they were packing.  Could we be going somewhere??!!  At noon we headed down to the Portage Lake library to listen to Steve Jones perform.
Steve is SO good!
This was on Friday the 22nd.
They have live music here every Friday noon to 1.

I love to hang out down here by the water.

You know I don't get out much for any socialization.

We chat with Steve afterwards.

They got the bread box loaded.
Could we be heading west to Cable WI next?

Bare Bluff adventure!

On Sunday afternoon, we joined Mark's gang for a hike around the Bare Bluff preserve.

We gathered at the visitor center in Calumet.
No-one ever rubs my hips good like this!
Now we start up the trail.  This is near Lac La Belle.
We hike along a cliff of rhyolite.

It's steep here but no problem for a dog with all paw drive.
We stop to gaze at the BIG lake.

Up a fault the group climbs to the top of the cliff.
Ya it's a climb.

We stop for snacks at the top.  This is looking east along the shore.

Lisa is a real ham!

On the way down, it started to rain so Ryan donned
his raincoat.
We had such a nice time here today.

Weekend rides!

On Saturday morning my pack was at Tech trails and rode around them for more than a hour.

After that, they left me home and headed up to Swedetown trails saying something about the heat and mileage being hard on old dogs.   Who are they talking about?
Out of the parking lot, they headed out on the
 Back Country trail.

They met Dave and Mary here for a ride.
They live downstate.

They had sold them a bike a few years back.

They did GREAT riding on these trails!

We had a most enjoyable ride with them.

Arly and Sandy hope they see them back up for a
ride again soon.
