Camping, hikes and traveling to Ely MN.

Hey! On Thursday, we seen the little red camper come out of the garden garage. Looks like the start of an adventure filled weekend!  This will be day one.
We haven't been in the little camper since last fall.

After chores and packing, we headed to Wanoka campground,
just west of Ashland WI.

We thought we had the place to ourselves....

But then me and Wally found Jeff!

He's here for the Rainbow Family gathering.
He was friendly and I hope we see him again!
What a beautiful morning!

It was still pretty cool out, even though the sun was
streaming down.

Such a lovely little lake.

Ya, we love this campground right along US 2.

At the NCT trail head we drove to, we found this sign.
Shortly after, a couple of friendly USFS employees stopped by
to chat about the "gathering".

We hiked the opposite direction from where the Rainbow
family folks were camping.

Or did we......?

Amazingly, the tree is growing between the metal and
NCT sticker of this sign.

Did you know how good it feels to roll in the grass,
and rub your snout in it?

We turned around at Tower Lake.

It's been a good summer for swan sightings.

Back towards the dog truck we hike.

We had such a nice day. What adventure awaits next?
