Circle of Life trail clearing adventures

On Sunday when the skies cleared, we headed to Courtney Lake to start clearing the Circle of Life trail.  Gromit stayed home and took a break and off her arthritic joints.
The intrepid crew assembled at the swimming beach parking lot.

Soon, brush was being lopped and tossed off.

Arly had the pole saw out, of course.
Sandy watches as some limbs get trimmed.

Lotsa young maples in this cut-over area.

Bubba rode all the way around the trail twice today!

Break time.

Hey! I thought I saw a squirrel.

Starting to look like fall!

What a great day to be out in the woods.

It's good to get this awesome trail back up to snuff.

Oh ya Dean, you can rub me.  I love that!

I did some tricks for Bubba.

It's been a busy day, so I'm glad we're heading back.

They got maybe the first 1/4 mile done.

They made me go for a swim afterwards.
I hope we come back soon!

Visiting cycle tourist!

A few days ago a cycle tourist got in touch with us asking to overnight at our house as he passed through.  We love these guys and Alex was good for some quality rubbing!
This summer, we've not had any tourists stay with us.

He got to sleep in the camper.
We wanted to sleep in there with him!

No one ever comes by to see and scratch us.

Traveling stories were told.
He started at his home town in Pennsylvania.

Hey.  I'm still here!

We love you Alex.

I hope we see you again sometime soon.
And you could go for a ski with us?

Back to Lake Ste Katheryn!

Back to Lake Ste Katheryn!  But it was just for the day since rain was predicted on the next.
Every body had a relaxing drive. Wait, she shouldn't be relaxing!!

First off, we checked and cleared Deer Marsh Trail.

It had been windy and we figured there would be some new down trees.

While standing on the viewing platform, we discovered a new wasp nest.

Hopefully no one got stung!

Ya we had to be careful. Wally knows all about wasp stings. He doesn't like it a bit!

Big old rotten one.

All gone!

Later, we got to visit with our favorite kids from Iron River.

And with Covey!

Hey, you're getting bigger!

Ya, puppies like to be silly.

Larry, I'm a big dog. I'm 3 years old now!

Hey! Quit butting in.

Ya Dianne, I hope we see you again soon.

Circle of Life trail on Courtney Lake and Gregg visits!

On Labor Day, we celebrated by meeting Dean and Bubba at Courtney Lake, to check out the "Circle of Life" trail. We brought some tools since Charlene had scoped the trail out earlier in the weekend and reported back to Dean of a few trees down.
We met them here to check this trail out.
We'd not been on it in years!

You're slow Bubba so I'll pass!
All you people are slow, compared to a Kelpie.

One of the down trees Charlene warned about.
We had such a nice romp here today!

Later, at home, my pal Gregg came by just to visit me.

Oh ya, we love him.  He follows our blog.

Are we gonna work on the blog? Finally??!!

A note for all of Gromit's friends and followers.  She is getting quite arthritic and we're lessening her walks.  She seems to do better in cooler weather so we're hoping for an enjoyable fall.

Church and visiting friendly neighbor girls.

Back at home we went to church, then we visited our friendly neighbor girls.
Oh ya, no one ever rubs me good.  Church is all out doors these days.

We recommend this mutt-friendly format. Hi Dave!

You know I like little girls.

And their mom!

I like church where we can socialize.

But I do get sleepy during the service.

Ariel! We missed you this summer.

Oh ya.

We don't get out much ya know.
Bucky you can bless us any time.

Who are you?

Oh, you're all friendly.

Judy says she's moving to Washington soon. Gee whiz we'll miss you!

At home, we seen the neighbor girls out side!

We just can't resist visiting them.

Oh ya. All you girls are so friendly.

We don't get no good rubbing at home like this.

We just met, but I do like you.

We do like tech girls who are on the cross country team.

We'll come see you as much as possible!
