Lake Ste Kathryn and fall colors.

We spent the weekend of September 26th at Lake Ste Kathryn getting the last campsites cleaned up.

Its fall!
It's fall!  And colors are at there max.

And no wind here.

Let's go see Larry, Dianne and Covey!

Everything has gotten more colorful.

Yet another pretty camp site.

Nice cool working weather!

We cleaned up some brush and lotsa stumps at Larry & Dianne's.

Its camp fire time! The previous weekend it was so windy.

The bottle of Klister was out to celebrate winter coming soon.

But for now we'll enjoy fall for as long as it hangs around.

Sure are some pretty trees here.

Just an artsy fall shot.

Hunting was good. I killed a squirrel...and who knows what else.

Mornings were kinda brisk but no frost.

Old dogs recommend rolling in the pine needles.

It's refreshing!

Since it had been windy, we thought we'd better check the Deer Marsh Trail.

We needed an excuse to get out on this beautiful trail.

Lotsa nice colors everywhere.

Any day you can hike this trail, is a good day.

So far so good.

I always recommend a dip in the headwaters of the East Branch.

Finally, almost to the end, we found a down tree.

Arly sliced-n-diced the rotten log.

Gone!

What a wonderful hike.

Back to work!

We had such a nice weekend here, got lotsa work done, and were treated to extravagant fall colors.

Lake Ste Katheryn camp and clearing!

Plus we got to meet lots of friendly campers.

Below are photos taken from a long weekend of camping, brush clearing, and other fun starting Friday September 18th.

First, we moved from the old site to one on the lake.
Then it was time to enjoy a camp fire!

It got pretty chilly overnight. Good thing for the canopy!

The Boss is all set to go to work.

But we had a relaxed morning.

We headed over to visit Larry and Dianne....

Oh, and little Covey too!

Here I am, Dianne.

Hey! That little guy is fast.

Yes indeed, we DO like Beggin' Strips!

Another fine evening at the lake.

Fresh white fish tastes even better over a fire.

Another crisp morning.

Even old dogs are full of it in the fall!

The sumac is all turned red. Pretty!

We met some friendly campers from down state.

Ya you can scratch me.

Breakfast time.

It was breezy most of the day and evening.

We met some friendly guys from Illinois.

Lots of vermin was hunted down as the brush was cut.

I hung our with our neighbors.

Ya I stopped in to visit too.

We went to visit the friendly Illinois guys again.

They are going to camp all around the Keweenaw.

Towards the end of the day, we take a break.

Fall is zooming up on us.

We've had such a busy and eventful camp weekend!
