It was a glorious morning to be outdoor dogs. |

With the cabin being heated, the icicles are formed. |

Oh good! We head out with enthusiasm. |

The snow had got deeper overnight. |

Arly, I'll show you how all-paw drive works. |

Sandy spies interesting fungus. |

The hemlocks lying here are 4ft in diameter. |

Hummmm, wonder who was here ahead of us? |

A bear! |

We made it down to one crossing we wanted to see. This is the Big Carp, and several years ago there was a bridge.... not a dangerous ford. |

Sandy studies the map. It's been a few years since we were here. |

We continued on down to the next ford of the Big Carp. |

This is a logjam we used to get across a few years ago. |

There was little snow here, maybe 1/2 an inch. Time to head back! |

A little more snow here. |
![]() |
Lots more here as we get close to Mirror Lake. |

We cut a bit more wood before heading in. Later, Sandy wrote in the cabin's journal. |

As 2 trail mutts fell fast asleep. |
Stay tuned for the next day.
