Friday evening we packed up for another Bob Lake camp -n- trail clearing adventure.
We got to the Bob Lake NFS campground and found all the
lake side sites taken, so we took this one. |
NOAA had called for rain late in the afternoon,
but early Saturday morning it was raining!
In fact it rained all morning. |
We bummed around in the morning while it rained.
It did finally stop, so we ate lunch and headed out. |
| We started here, at the junction of the nature trail and Spur trail. |
| Oh, this does need some whacking. |
| The weed whacker may have been the most important tool today. |
| It was along the meadow of the beaver pond we worked. |
| Now you can sit on this bench and see the meadow again. |
| While here, we saw a hummer feeding on the yellow flowers nearby. |
| I think we need to clear the weeds here as well. |
| Sandy gets a-going on that. |
| Ya, that's looking better. |
| All this supervising is making me tired! |
| Some dogs spent much of the afternoon looking for frogs. |
The little creek here drains water from the meadow, into the
beaver pond ahead. |
| Almost done. |
| All done! |
| On the hike out, we spied this pine turning red. |
With the chance of rain being high tonight,
we headed back to Ho town.
It's been a busy, busy day and we fell right to sleep. |
