Up north adventures!

On Sunday, Arly decided we should hike Bare Bluff. It's been so long they were there, I've never even been! Gromit stayed home and watched the house.

Despite the heat, folks were out exploring.

Someone left a work glove behind.

The 2-track leading to the trail is getting rutty and grown in.

Now the single track starts.

The thimbleberries like the climate here.

We hiked the trail going counter-clockwise.  Up and up we go!

Whew, it was hot in these sun exposed spots.

Trail is marked.  For the dogs anyway!

Up the fault we scramble.

Ya it's super steep, hard to catch in a photo.

Arly of course was thinking he should get his saw in here.

We stopped to enjoy the view at the top.

The 2-leggeds had a picnic lunch while I hunted for chippy.

OK, back down the trail.

Arly spied a ripe thimbleberry!

Spruce bud worms at work here.

Gee I wish there was water in this old washout.

We did have a nice hike here today.

We stopped by Haven Park for a cool dip and potty break.

This is a very nice little road side park.

Especially when it's hot!

Then, after supper, James came by just to see us!

Ya, I remember you from the Circle of Life
trail last fall.  I will bite! Since I can't shake your hand.

They had margaritas to cool off.
We're so glad James came by!

Hot Saturday romp at the Pilgrim Watershed trails.

We had another hot sunny weekend here. On Saturday we got out for a romp before things heated up too, too much.

I made many dips into Pilgrim River today.

Then again, when is it NOT a good day for a dip?

Bugs have not been out so shorts n short sleeves were worn.

Maybe it's time for another dip!

We didn't see anyone out here today.

Can we come back soon?

Clearing the Pilgrim River Watershed trails

On Tuesday afternoon, Sandy and Arly got away early and we headed to Boundary Road to weed whack the weeds and ferns on the single-track section of the Pilgrim River Watershed trail.

We hadn't done any whacking out here yet this summer.

On the way out, we bumped into the
friendly crew doing river bank restoration.

Then we found a boat!  The river bank restoration
crews were using it to haul in heavy supplies.
It would be fun to go for a ride with them!

Although, I like wading in the river. Kelpies don't
need to float in a boat.

Arly made me jump on this rock
and had me "say hello". He said I
needed more guidelines in my life.
What does that mean?

Trail's not as weedy as past years.  It's been a dry summer.

Oh, here she comes.

We did get around the single track today.

Sunday at Good Shepherd Church!

On Sunday we again attended church at Good Shepherd.

Ya, it's trail mutt friendly here.

We don't get much socialization at home ya know.

Bucky is coming over to say hi.

Me and Keith are best buds.

Then Scott and Sara came!

And they brought Sami!

Ya, we do like kids.

And who are you?   Ya, I do like to be touched.

Later, all the 4 leggeds dozed off.

Sami does like my coat.

You can visit me any time. I love kids!

I even love to kiss them. They usually taste sweet!

After church time.

Can we come back again next Sunday?
