Charmaign Aronson RIP

Charmaign Aronson (Arly's mother) passed today after a long battle with cancer at her home in Chamberlain SD.  She was the granddaughter of Norwegian and Danish immigrants who loved her family and animals.
1933 to 2020

Yes she loved all the 4-leggeds.

At a border collie trial... Mickey came too.

Charmaign Aronson of Chamberlain, South Dakota | 1933 - 2020 | Obituary

Charmaign Aronson
July 21, 1933 - May 14, 2020

Private graveside services will be held for Charmaign Aronson, 86, of Chamberlain, in the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery at Pukwana.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Lois Charmaign Roisum was born July 21, 1933 at Watertown, SD to parents Arthur and Clara (Karterud) Roisum of Lake Norden, SD.  Charmaign received her elementary education at Lake Norden, SD.  She lived and toured the United States with her sister Donna with the "Valkeryies Troupe" for a time.  Charmaign then met her future husband Herb Aronson at a roping.  They were united in marriage on June 28, 1953 and made their home on the farm at Lake Poinsett where their five children were born.
In 1989, Herb and Charmaign moved to Chamberlain where she worked at the Dakota Milestones formerly the Chamberlain Adjustment Training Center for over 20 years.  She loved all her clients and considered them family.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain and especially looked forward to the monthly meetings of "Ruth's Circle".  She was active in the church and would also be the fill-in organist when needed.
Charmaign always worked alongside her husband Herb on the farm, kept up her flowers and vegetable garden.  She enjoyed canning, baking, cooking, and sewing.
Charmaign was a farm wife, mother, cook and gardener.  She enjoyed neighborhood pinochle games, square dancing, riding horse, and singing or yodeling!  The greatest joy in her life was her family.  She very much loved attending the activities of her grandchildren, not missing one.
In July 2019, she was diagnosed with Mesothelioma and fought a good and tough battle until the end.  She passed away at home at Chamberlain on May 14, 2020.
Gratefully sharing her life are her husband Herb; children Dawn (Randy) Rinehart of Highmore, Randy Aronson of Chickamauga, GA, Arlyn (Sandy) Aronson of Houghton, MI, Marla (Van) Huse of Onida, SD, and Lynn (Steve) Peterson of Chamberlain, SD; grandchildren Jamie and spouse, Katie and spouse, Buck, Sammie and spouse, Jacob, Tate and spouse, Geoffrey, Zach, Ty, Jonathan, Kara, Hayes, Evan, and Levi; nine great grandchildren; an "adopted" granddaughter Stella, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her mother, father, infant brother, two sisters Donna Still and Connie Hendricks, grandson Zane, grandnephews Matthew and Joe, and grandniece Sammie Jo.
