Back to Bob!

Bob Lake campground that is.  On Saturday afternoon, we loaded the camper and dog truck, and headed to this NFS campground to clear the nature trail there!
Puppies have learned to stick close by when camper
packing is happening.
After a warm day in town, we were greeted with a
cool breeze off Bob lake.

We even needed a tarp to help with the wind, for the fire.

The grass was nicely mowed here.
This is such a nice little campground.

On goes the sweet potato to warm up.

Hey! We found some friendly neighbors.

Bob N Rob from downstate MI were a hoot!

You could come work on the trail with us.
I'll show you what to do, or you could scratch me some.

Smart talk ensues.  Sandy shows them how to find their
way to the Legendary Rousseau Bar.

Oh, then another friendly camper stopped by to say hi!

Puppies tire of socializing, especially when there are frogs to hunt.

OK time to start thinking about supper.

Favorite camp supper nearing perfection.

We were greeted by a beautiful sunny Sunday.

We watched for squirrels of course.

What a great place to enjoy morning coffee.

We spied some interesting water bugs skittering across
the surface.

Then, we finally got to work.

We needed to weed whack the Beaver Lodge Trail.

Ya, nice and neat now.

Before the grassy board walk....

...then after.

By the way, did you know how refreshing these beaver ponds can be?

This big one was over the trail this spring.
Could of used the pole sawed it after all since it's hollow.
Our NFS buddies had sawed it for us.

Annual maintenance is a snap once the trail's been
properly cleared.

Done!  We spent many hours clearing it this past summer.
Now it's a breeze!
We took a celebratory cooling dip.  Where's the life guard?
I bet he's friendly.

We carefully read all the rules...

Back at camp, hunting was still good.

Puppies do wear out after hours on the trail.
Then in the afternoon, we drove a bit west to check out a portion
of the NCT we had worked on last summer.

Doesn't seem to be cared for any longer.

Oh well.
