Back to Courtney Lake!

 On Friday the 9th, the pack headed to Courtney Lake campground for another fine fall weekend camp adventure and of course, to do more work on the Circle of Life trail.

Sandy got off early so we showed up before dark.

It was warm out. Time to see who all is here.

Some friendly folks from the Chicago 'burbs!

They had a mutt and we were going to tussle!

Oh ya.

We love camping here.

Sandy is relaxing with a glass of wine.

They came by just to see us.

This sun came out the next morning.

Back on the trail, we cut some extra firewood.

We'll get this section cleared.

Mary is here to help today.

We'll get lots done when she helps!

The pole saw got a work out, as usual.

Firewood is moved back to camp in da Boss.

Brush is cut and removed.

 

We got maybe 1/4 of a mile done today.

Later, Dean and Bubba showed up!

We walked back out with them, to show them how far we've gotten.

Bubba's feet hurt him, so Sandy gave him a ride back.

So good to see you guys!

So we run back.

Larry rode down to camp with us!!

Sandy and Bubba came back from the out house in style.

Lotsa smart talk going on.

Oh Dean!  I'm right here! When will we see you again?

Shuffle to Courtney Lake campground.

 If this post looks a little different than older ones, you can thank Google for their "improvements". Anyway, on Friday evening we began our shuffle from Lake Ste Kathryn, to Courtney Lake campground.  We'll be clearing the Circle of Life trail located there.

Camp gear is being loaded. Lucky the rain finally quit!

On the last stretch to Lake Ste Kathryn.

Oh it's nice here!  Might be the last time here this season.

The sun is going down and no wind. But cool!

Arly got a fire going ASAP.

The next morning we are ready to go!

Older trail mutts are more relaxed.

Wally says, "I had to wear my sweater, so I wouldn't get cold."

Hardly anyone here now.  Why not?

Might be the best campground anywhere.

After breakfast, we packed up.

Then we went to visit and say good-bye to Covey, Larry and Diane!

As we left Lake Ste K for Courtney, we saw this little fellow.  Who's that?

Courtney Lake, here we are!  We'll leave the camper here.

We start to clear the Circle of Life trail.  Does it need it!

Mutts were again tasked with keeping the area free of vermin.

My pack decided the camp site needed some love.

We love camping here. Well, most anywhere really.

A breeze kicked up so the canopy walls were applied.

Who are the best dogs anywhere??

And the hungriest!!

We got below freezing last night.

Everyone but Gromit was bundled up again. Yes it helps to have a luxurious coat!

Back at work, Arly cuts this poor tree down.

It was in poor, poor health. Now it's safely off the trail.

We heard swans.

Lots more love will be needed here, so we'll be back.

This section got cleaned up.

Such a beautiful trail.  We'll likely be back the next weekend.
