First tourist for the year!

Oh ya, we got our first cycle tourist for the season!   Jim is riding east from Fargo/Moorhead where he got off Amtrak.  He rolled in here after riding in the snow and wind we got on Thursday, tired and a bit wet.
Ya, we love friendly guests like you!

We never get to see anyone while living here.
He stayed an extra day just to pet me more.

Jim has an interest in geology, so went for a little hike
at Quincy mine site.

These are sheaves for cables that pulled men and
materials, up and down the mine shaft.

We check out these mine skips.

Now he's working on his balancing skills.

What's that?  Might be a RR car.

This is were they brought coal in for the boiler.

We hiked down the hill following the RR tracks,
then back up on this trail.

It's so nice to be in the woods before the leaves come out.

Switch backs to get us back up.
Next we roamed around some more, checking out the train engines.

We love these old steam engines.

As they gazed at the relics, snow bathing ensued.

On the way home, we stopped at "Jim's" grocery store.

The next morning, he was getting ready to leave for Copper Harbor.

I don't think anyone is going to touch us again!

Oh ya, we're so glad you came by to see us.
