Pilgrim Watershed Trail romp with Jim!

On Thursday we got out for a grand romp at our favorite Pilgrim Watershed Trail, and Jim joined in the fun!   We love it when he comes along.
Puppies like to pee here, there, and everywhere!

Old dogs know where they can get some quality ear scratching.

Let's go! The hike out on the south logging road wasn't too bad.
It's drying out nicely.

We stopped here to gaze at the river.
The hiking trail was mostly nice and dry.

The mutts led the way, as usual.

We checked out the old fallen down log cabin.

You really can't see this once the leaves are out.

You gotta get a snow bath where ever you can find one these days.

Even the gullies are snow-free now.

This is the bridge we helped move last fall.
It was a good place for a cooling stop.

Sandy showed Jim where the geocache is located.
Then we walked out on the west logging road which was
considerably more wet than the south one.
No problem for all-paw drive however...

Still out and doing romps in the woods!

Hard to believe but we are still getting out and running in the snow!
Over the weekend, we got out to romp on the Mud Lake trails.

We used to work on these to keep them cleared.

But the club and city didn't appreciate our work,
so we went elsewhere to keep up trails.

Most of the snow is now gone.
Back at the house, windows are being finished.
Ya we'd like to be out a whole lot more but the 2-leggeds
say they have to get this stuff done. Lame!

Pilgrim River Watershed Trail romp!

We've been getting out recently to check out the Pilgrim Watershed Trail off Boundary Rd.  We of course get out every day.
Kelpies know all about multi tasking. When are we gonna get out?

Oh ya! Now we can really romp!
We thought we'd check if the delicate 2-leggeds
could get through the wet spots.

So far, so good.

Lots of snowy patches left.

Pilgrim River is up a bit. Not such a big spring rush though.

Table is nice and dry now.

Lots of the hiking trail was dry.

Finally a nice warm and calm day.

Ya that's the bridge that we put back in place last fall.

Kelpies don't mind wading.
It was warm enough that cool dips were needed.

Another tributary creek.

Now back on the logging road.

Lots of trees got pulled down over the winter that we'll
need to remove soon. We had such a nice romp here today!

Social K9 visits!

Early this morning, we had a friendly mutt stop by.  Who are you?
Do you live around here?  I don't think I've smelled you before.

We didn't tussle, but we did think about it.

I'm going to pee, right here!

Then in the afternoon, we spied Shannon, Daisy and the kids out!

She thinks she'd fast but I can chase her.

This is soooo much fun!

She might be faster but I can turn quicker!

We love it when we can play with Daisy.

OK, it's time to go home again.

Snow romps over the weekend.

Ya, we really are getting out every day, but there's usually not much to see and post here. Although, Arly coulda took some photos several times this past week, when we had "last time to ski" romps at several different trails. By Saturday we ended up hiking instead.

Saturday we thought we'd romp around at Chassell Trails.

Sandy is guessing what this fitness station is for.

You could do some pull-ups and dips here, you know!

Ya I know this is a leg press but you could be scratching me.

Then on Sunday afternoon we parked at the trail head
on High Point Rd. High-n-dry here!

But good snow still in more shaded areas. The creek is up just a bit.

You can see here, parts of the trail have good snow pack
 but others are bare.

I had no problem crossing Spring Creek...in fact, I loved it!

Gee Arly's bridge sure looks artsy with the snow melting.

Do you know how good rolling on the snow feels?

It feels great! I recommend it.

A fat biker had been out earlier. I bet they were friendly!

We spied a few melted spots.

I think a grooming machine was playing in the mud here.

How were these snow donuts made?

Kelpies can be water dogs too!

Oh a dip in the creek invigorates me!
I romped all the way back to the dog truck.

On the drive home, Arly stopped in to check out
some interesting stuff on the water front.

Seems that a dredge and various tugs are gathering here.
