Day II, Circle of Life Trail at Courtney Lake clearing!

Back for more trail work at Courtney on Sunday.   We figure we got nearly half of the Circle of Life trail done by the end of today.

What a wonderful day to be back in the woods!

Our lunch stop.

The viewing dock looks wintery.

Oh, oh, what's this little log doing across the trail?

So the little pole saw comes out.

A few minutes later, it falls out and gets rolled away,

And we keep a going.

And then we find another fallen tree across the trail!

All better.

At the end of the day, we stop to see the lake.

I bet we'll be back this coming weekend!

Back to camp at Courtney!

Back to camp at Courtney!  This will be day 1.

Snow here! We actually drove in it most of the way.

We had to knock the snow off the canopy.

We loaded the Boss.

And we head out.

We started clearing not far from camp.

Arly's testing a new pole saw today.

It works good!

Ya, snow.

Lots and lots of limbs coming down today.

Cleared trail behind us.

It's so pretty out.  Trail mutts are all about this!

The sun even came out today.  For a few minutes.

At the end of the day, it's time to go back and we are wet!

Nara trail care inspection hike

On Friday afternoon, we met with three people who are running for Houghton City Council.   They are: Joan Suits, Virginia Cole (goes by Jan), and Brian Irizarry, joined by his three boys.  We did a short hike with them to view the Nara trail conditions, or lack of upkeep of them.

We don't get enough kids time!   Jan you can rub me too!

We can always use more kid time.

Ya, we do love them.

We headed to see the Copper Country Humane Society path first.

This trail has not been maintained or groomed in years.

We discuss what can be done to keep them up.  This is what it looked like this summer.

The sledding hill doesn't get mowed at all. It's not being groomed for the 1st half of winter.

This is supposed to be a City of Houghton park.

Then on Saturday, the pack started doing fall yard clean up but Mother Nature had different ideas.

First snow today!

No real volume is predicted but the yard was covered.

Snowed kind of hard for a while

Old dogs are giddy to be in it again

Of course its warm out and this will be gone soon.

More Courtney Lake adventures!

Now here's photos from Saturday evening and Sunday.

Ya, Larry is camping with us.

We are so glad you stayed and see us.

We're going to eat good tonight.  Ribs-n-steak!

What a nice evening we had.

Smart talk by the fire ensued.

It was chilly in the morning. Larry! I'm right here!

No one ever rubs me.

Ya, it sure is fall here.

Larry breaks his tent down.

I'm here ya know. I like Neuske's and pancakes too!

Hope your ride home goes well.

We get back to work.

We got lots more done.

Kelpies get tuckered out with so much excitement.
By the end of the weekend, I had to take a snooze in the leaves.
