Pilgrim Watershed Trail work

Sandy got off of work early enough today, we thought we'd make a quick trip to the Pilgrim Watershed Trail and clear it some this afternoon.
Trail mutts know this trail well.
This afternoon, we hope to clear just the dead-falls that
are across the trail.

It will take some time to get it fully cleared, over the summer.

This leaner broke off the tree's top and has been here
for some time.  The trail went right under it.

Ya, lets get it cut down to size Arly!
It did take some time, but we eventually got it removed.

Next one down the trail.

Cut, slice-en-dice.
Gone!
Yet another.

Someone said that pole-saws can't clear trails.

Funny anyone would say so.

This was a tree and debris that washed onto
the trail after last summer's flood. Gone!

This one's been here since last summer.

Seems like lots of logs here...

And then finally, that snag that's been hung up since last fall.

This one's near that picnic table overlooks the Pilgrim River.

A few hours later we are done!  At least with that part.
And we take a break at the picnic table.
Looks like we used 1/2 a tank of bar oil today.
So far, we got over 20 hours cleaning up this trail.
