Weekend camp and trail adventures.

With moderate fall weather predicted, we hoped to complete the trail clearing of the nature trail at Bob Lake NFS campground.
Late on Friday afternoon, we set up camp at Bob Lake.
We were the only ones there!  The water pump was disengaged.
With the nights now being so long, we'll need lots of firewood.

But hunting remains good for us trail mutts!

With temps being low, some cooking was done inside the new camper.

Trail mutts do like to get out now and then.
We don't mind the dark.
The next morning.  Not a breeze to be had.

It got cool overnight, maybe 25 degrees.
Marjory and Doug arrived to help!
Oh ya, we love to see friendly trail help like these two!

We worked right from camp, on the part of the
trail that's on the old RR grade.

Then, we took a romp around the nature trail loop.
We took a break at the bench.

We admired the view of the marsh, which we restored this summer.

Then we headed to this down spruce.

It fell down in the past month, after we had cleared this loop.

After lopping the branches, then sawing the tree,
the trail was in good shape again.

Doug did some quick-n-dirty maintenance of this poor, rotting board walk.

We spied bear scratch marks in this big spruce.
OK, let's head to the next bench.
We enjoyed the view of the beaver pond.

On back to camp we go.

We were so glad to see the sun.

We did camp Saturday night, and on Sunday, we went
for a romp down the spur trail.

We're always glad for a little snow.

Maybe we'll be skiing soon!
