Saturday morning adventures at Churning Rapids

On Saturday morning, while the temps were still cool, we thought we'd run over to High Point Rd. and check out the Churning Rapids trails and see if the snow was hard enough to walk on.

No snow here!  It's a south facing road.

Trails mutt grab a drink, while on the run.

With a nice hard surface, mutts can go fast.

What are these tracks??

Bear!

Snow is really down in the sun exposed areas.
No snow shoes needed, and not even the Ice Trekkers.

Phat bikers were out ahead of us.

Creeks had some ice.  Who used that log to cross it?

Spring creek was bubbling away.

Fishers were out.  We didn't see them.

We romped off-trail here. Snow was nice and hard everywhere.

Everything's waking up.

Hunting was good today, so by the end I was getting tired.

So nice to have the ground frozen. No mud!

Hard to believe we had the place to
ourselves on such a beautiful morning.
