Courtney Lake ski trail, could be last clearing day

On Sunday the dog truck was again loaded up and headed back to Courtney Lake for more ski trail clearing. Should about be the last big work day there.

We started on the cut across near Lukkari's camp.

Overhanging shoots and branches were trimmed and hauled off.

A few cuts here and there made all the difference.

Later, we spied old balsams with many hat-rack cuts.
Arly trimmed them off.  This is a no-no in the trail clearing book.

The logging road that cuts over to the Circle of Life trail
had some bent over saplings that were cut.

As usual, trying to do "before-and-after"
photos is really hard to capture.

Wow lotta cuts on that little red pine.  Another no-no.

Hey! Someone's coming to visit.

I watched for any others....  Its getting late in the day.

Nope, just Dean and Bubba. They love the Courtney trails too!

Towards the end of the day, we all were getting tired.

By the end of the day, we made it to the swimming pool. All the trails that can reasonably
be groomed are ready. We will return to check the equestrian
loop and hopefully put maps and signs up before grooming starts.
Then we'll have to do our Heikki Lunta dance!
