Porkies Mirror Lake adventures, last hike!

This is our hike from Mirror Lake on Saturday, our last full day there.  What a grand time we had here!
Since we were going to swing by the truck,
Wally was put to work hauling garbage out.

Senior mutts have retired from hauling loads.

We climb up the trail heading to the Summit Peak tower.
It was steep!

The steps up. Ya, good snow depth up here.

It was very windy and cold up here, so much we couldn't stand
to get up on the tower.

On to the trail head, we took the road to the truck.

There we met some friendly locals from Chassell,
who we've met on our local trails before....

...plus a couple from Illinois who some how slid into the ditch
while turning around.
No shovel, no winter clothing, poor tires.  What can we say.

OK, back to hiking! We took the Beaver Creek trail.

We hadn't been on this in many years.

We found it to be quite lovely!

Impressive bridge over Beaver Creek.

Sandy spied a beaver cavorting around in the water.

At the junction, we met up with our Chassell-ites again.
There mutt was very friendly.  Hope we see them again!

Old dogs do like to tussle some, too.

Then, we met a couple and trail mutt from Ohio.

We'd met her at the hiking conference in MN last fall. Imagine...
we meet only 3 couples all trip and 2 of the couples we've met before.
What are the chances of that!

OK time to head back towards the cabin.

We had such a nice hike today.
Followed by more wood cutting of course!
