Pilgrim watershed tree removal hike.

On Sunday afternoon, we headed to Boundary road to remove a tree we had found across the Pilgrim Watershed Trail this past week.  With all the wind we've had lately, we expected to find more.
With little snow on the ground, we thought we'd try using
our pulk sled to haul the saw gear out.

It was breezy today, but the sun came out.

We turn off the logging road and onto the trail.

With the snow so shallow, they took the skags off the sled
and it towed better.

Arly watches to make sure the sled doesn't fall into the creek.

It was warm out and a wonderful November day to be in the woods.

We made it!  It was an easy hike in.

It was three or more, dead pines that had fallen across the trail.

The little pole saw goes to work.

Older mutts don't venture very far and watch.

Younger ones are in the woods hunting.
Done!

We thought we'd hike around the rest of the trail expecting
to find more dead-falls.

Along the river bottom.  We should install a bench here.

With a southern exposure here, not much snow left.

Down and around we go.

No more dead-falls were found across the trail.

This is the bridge we dragged back a month ago.

The fall sun is going down.  What a nice day to be in the woods!
