Lake Perrault romp

On Saturday we needed to get out so we headed up to Lake Perrault for a little romp.
Low enough snow to drive in, at least with the dog truck.
Nonetheless, it was rough going.

There was a skim of ice covering the little lake.

We headed down the trail, circling the lake going clockwise.

Oh ya, it's always so pretty here in the high country.

The 2-leggeds just hiked, no snow shoes or skis required yet.

Ya, it's been a wet fall.

Hey! I smell vermin.

What are those pretty red berries?

Someone must have been celebrating Halloween here.

This is one of the trails leading to the fen.
Or is it a bog? We always forget.

Wally be careful! You could fall in.  Although, I'm not sure I care...

Down the board walk we stroll.

We never knew there were 2 trails here until a year or so ago,
when this sign appeared.

The other trail and board walk.

Oh dear, the viewing platform's rails are askew.

We had such a nice romp here today.
