Lake Ste Kathryn trail clearing long weekend, day 2 and 3

Lake Ste Kathryn trail clearing long weekend, Sunday & Monday
Sunday morning, we were greeted by nice cool weather,
which makes us giddy.

And chipmunk hunting remains good at Lake Ste Kathryn.

Hummmm we smell Nueske's bacon.

Back to trail work.
We started at the trail head on the north end, on Martin Lake Rd.

Unlike yesterday, today we'll be clearing this section properly.

Limbing, lopping, then dragging everything away, out of sight.

Over here guys, this needs it.

Stopping for a snack, we all can smell cheesy crackers.

OK that's looking better! We got almost to the viewing platform.

Back at camp, a friendly family stopped by just to see us!

Oh ya, we can use some kid touching.  They're from Iron River.

We stopped to see Larry, Diane and Jordy.

This fellow landed on the canopy wall.  What is he?

After so many hours on the trail, some dogs do need a nap.

Cheryl CH host came by to see me!  Oh good!

But I'm getting tired as well.

The pack setting up the shower to get cleaned.
They didn't heed our recommendations for a dip in Deer Marsh!
Later that evening, Arly is spraying a wasp nest.
Seems Wally had found it earlier today
and thought it smelled very, very interesting.

Later that night.

Labor Day Breakfast!

We had to go see the friendly kids from Milwaukee again.

Oh ya, no one ever touches us!

We're really, really going to miss you guys....

We did see a few trees that had turned fully red here.

OK enough dawdling over coffee....

...Let's get to more clearing!

We'll get that viewing platform all cleared, so there will again be a view.
This is the unfriendly wasp next Wally had found yesterday.

We were so glad Dianne came out again!

She is a real go-getter. She's trail mutt approved!

Especially when she lets us lick the peanut butter from her sandwich wrapper.

All cleared up, from the canoe launch to where we quit yesterday.  Thanks Dianne!!
Camp is being packed up and I just can't keep my eyes open.

We better stick close by so we don't get left behind. When can we come back?
