Lake Ste Kathryn trail clearing long weekend, Friday & Saturday

For the long weekend with weather being perfect for camping and trail work, we headed south to Lake Ste Kathryn to do more clearing of the Deer Marsh interpretative trail.
Trail mutts know darn well, when camp gear is being loaded.

With days being shorter, we got there just before dark
and set up camp. Then we went to Dianne and Larry's site to
say "hi".   Jordy shared with us his treats!
The next morning, we got a new canopy
so setting it up must be studied.

Oh ya, this will keep us dry in case of rain and bug free.
Paul and Julie plus Dexter strolled past!
We met them last time we camped here.

Then us mutts wandered over to the next site.
They were friendly folks from Milwaukee!
Don't worry, we'll stop by again later.
We got on the trail and found the NFS had put up new blazes.

Today's task was just to clear the dead-falls on the
section along  the east shore of the marsh.

Oh dear, here's a big one.

No problem for the little pole saw.

We'll help to roll off and we're done!

Later we take a cool dip in the marsh.

What a pretty, pretty marsh.
This is the headwaters for three rivers.

Puppies get busy digging up vermin.

More dead-falls cleared off the trail.

Then Dianne came out to help.

We look for the next dead-fall and many were removed.

We made it to the next parking lot, on Martin Lake Rd,
near the canoe landing.

This is a nice viewing platform that's getting obscured from brush.

By late in the afternoon, some trail mutts are wearing out.

Back at camp, it's looking like fall.

Then we went over to see the friendly fishermen from St Paul MN.

What perfect camping weather for winter mutts like us.

Oh ya.
