Spring Creek gorge revisit

Saturday morning, the pack loaded up into the dog truck and headed to High Point Rd to romp on down to the Spring Creek gorge. We wanted to beat the breeze that was to develop in the afternoon. We were greeted by some lightly falling snow.

These plow banks are getting to be quite an obstacle to scale!

Ya, it is a tall berm.

We admired snow-art all around.  Will this fall on us?

I don't mind having my booties adjusted.
Although, I lost one shortly after this.

We did have snow shoe packed trails at first.

Ya the snow depth is quite impressive.
Now we break trail going down Villi Maki with no snowshoe tracks
 to follow.

Snow was so deep, we skipped doing the gorge and headed up
High Point to the ski trail.

Hey! We got to meet a couple of very friendly trail mutts here.

We romped and tussled a little.

OK, time to break trail again as we head back.

Ya, we had to follow. It's tough going!

The sun did peek out.

Even puppies didn't do too much extra off-trail bounding.

We didn't mind following.

Later, they had us break trail for a while.

No one was very speedy today.

Lotsa snow on the Maki Trail bridge.

We cross the field.

Back on the snow shoe packed trail.

More snow art.  The creek tries to peek out.

At the edge of the gorge.

This widow-maker is still waiting to pounce.

We had such a nice ski here today.
