More NCT clearing near FH 16.

NOAA said the weather would be clearing, so on Saturday morning the truck was loaded and we again headed SW to Forest Highway 16.  We'll be working on the North Country Trail and this post will be day one.
The fall colors on Forest Highway 16 on our way out.

We did a quick camp setup. Trail mutts are so glad to be out again!
We've been here a few times this summer since it's close to some
unadopted trail sections we wanted to work on.
Plus a favorite area to hike.

Then a short drive down the road to where the trail crosses.

We walked in to check its current condition.

Oh it is brushy!

Now we get to work.

Trail mutts were in the woods hunting squirrels n chipmunks while
the 2 legs cleared their way west.

We stop for lunch and see some dogs have been out digging.

Who's the best dog on whole logging road?

Back at it and shoots are everywhere!  Then it started to drizzle.

The branches in front of blazes will get cleared.

All better!  It drizzled all afternoon, not what NOAA had predicted.
Although trail mutts aren't bothered too much by rain.

Back at camp, the drizzle had ended.
The 2-leggeds changed into dry clothing.
It was about 40 degrees out.

Me and Wally chased each other as the pack contemplated
heading home to get a shower.

OK, the fire was started and the drizzle didn't start back up. Let's stay!
The trail mutts were wearing out some as supper was cooked.
Sure it drizzled today, but we still had a wonderful time in the woods.
