Yesterday, we loaded the dog truck and ventured to Gardner RD, near Mass City MI and did more work on a trail bridge there. Trail mutts do like spending time on the North Country Trail!
Ya Wally, I'd suggest you stay close by, or you'll be left behind! |
An hour later. OK, let's get down to that bridge and get started. |
1st thing, Sandy is knocking them weeds back. |
They jacked it out of the mud.
You can't see it in this photo, but the creek had washed away the bank
from under this corner. |
We moved the other end, about 4ft.
This was all under water last year because of beavers. |
The bridge was raised just enough, so rebar anchors could be moved
through the muck. |
Done! Both ends of the bridge had to be moved and get it
back on terra firma again. We also raised it 6". |
It was a long and hot day here, but we did get it done.
Hopefully, it will last another 10 years. |
Back at camp and after we had ate, it was time to run and growl! |
This is what camping at Gardner RD is all about. |
Hummm, we smelled steak a cooking.
The rocks came from the Lake Mine poor rock pile near here. |
Could working on trails, get any more fun than this? |
At the end of the day we packed up.
I wish we could have camped overnight,
but we still had such a wonderful time today. |
