Back to camp CAMBA!

Our temps cooled down so we thought we'd head west as soon as Sandy gets off work to camp and go for rides on those wonderful CAMBA trails near Cable WI.   She's been working way to much!
I'm SO glad to be camping again!   And Jeff came to.

The next morning we meet Greg at OO trail head to ride.
Ya Greg, you can scratch me.

I finally get to run some!

I'm so glad these guys came along.   Greg groom's ski trails.

My pack are CAMBA trail members.

My pack hasn't been riding much because of heat
and long days at work..

These trails are soooooo much fun!
Sandy really got a nice photo here.

We fly past ferns.

Jeff takes the lead.

Actually, may pack has been riding darn little
and pretty slow.

Greg had to tun back so us three rode further.
We stopped to pick berries here.

Done!

We have lunch at the OO chalet.

The Birkie trail organization was having a meeting here
and had equipment out.
Arly loves to see ski trail machinery.

After lunch me, Sandy and Arly went for another ride
 heading in the other direction.
This is the Seely Pass trail.

Oh these are fun!

Berms are the best!

Back at camp I got right into squirrel hunting again.

Sandy made stir fry.

We all ate good.
Me and Jeff went to get more water.   I love Jeff!

The neighbors Sara, Morgan and John.
Turns out, I'd meet them before at a ski race in Ironwood MI.
John grooms trails in Two Harbor MN.
I love groomers.   I'm a winter dog ya know.
We had such a nice time here.

Various adventures!

Oh Ya. Don and Sharon invited my pack over for a most delicious supper...I got to come along but I had to fend for myself.
Ya Don, no one ever touches me.

They even had rhubarb pie for dessert...I didn't get any.

I had to be on the lookout for vermin.

I did take a break for some ear scratching. I love that!

OK, back to work.
Back at home, since it's been so hot lately,
Sandy decided it was time for summertime
haircut #2.

Here, I'm showing off my luxurious fringes and
border collie coat.
I don't mind being groomed.
This helps keep the weed seeds out of my coat.

And cooler! See, my butt is nice and trimmed now.

Ya, my fringes were trimmed too.

Now I look like my dad...a Labrador.

Cycle tourist family stops by!

This week we had a friendly family staying here from Lyon France.
They camped in the yard.   I offered to sleep with them.
My pack rarely lets me see any kids.

Two kids touching me at once.  That's the best!

Ya, I love little girls.

I watched them pack up the next morning.
I was sad to see them go.

I should say the my pack has got me out for a run now and them. They ride a bike and I run.

Monday camp and Tuesday NCT trail maintenance!

Tuesday's weather was predicted to be reasonable for doing trail work again on our section of the North Country Trail.   So as soon as Sandy got home from work, we headed south west to our favorite camp site along the trail and just south east of Mass City.
Hey!  Weren't we here just a couple of days ago?

I love camping, it's all about adventure.

Oh they're making coffee this morning.

We all ate a hardy breakfast.

I planned on Chipmunk, but they wouldn't come down.
Finally! We're off.

Arly was ready to do some trimming.

He cleaned up branches encroaching on the trail.
I watched for wasps as Sandy freshened up the faded blazes.

This one came down last winter.
Arly rolled this one off, and Sandy thought us
trail mutts may appreciate the low blaze.
Arly buzzes off another dead fall.

Can you see the angled cut-offs?
Is this tree eating that old blaze?

We crossed the road to someone's camp.
Sandy scrapes the back side of that tree so
she can add a new blaze.
Lookin' good! I approve.
It's been an adventure filled day and we're just about back.
I'm tired and had enough.

I hope you can join us next time!
